Comic-Con is one of the biggest events in the geek calendar, where some of the biggest films, TV shows and (yes) comics get shown off for the first time to huge audiences in San Diego. Comic-Con 2012 begins on Thursday 12 - and here's our round-up of things we'd like to see at this year's show...

Iron Man 3 - and the rest of Marvel's plans
Marvel's The Avengers is the film story of the year, a box office powerhouse (currently on over $1.4billion worldwide, the third highest-grossing film ever) that was also loved by critics and the hardest-to-please fans. So what do Marvel do next? Iron Man 3 is due out next year, and even though shooting only began a few weeks ago (as pictured above, with Robert Downey Jr on set), expect Marvel to show off something exciting from that film. In addition to Iron Man, we should also find out a bit more about some of the other Avengers' future adventures, in the form of Thor 2 and Captain America 2. But everyone will also be eagerly anticipating some new announcements from Marvel as they look to expand their film universe. Will Mark Ruffalo's Hulk - a crowd-pleasing highlight of The Avengers - get his own film? What's happening with Edgar "Shaun of the Dead" Wright's planned Ant-Man film? And how about that much-rumoured Guardians of the Galaxy movie?
