But back in 1987, Joel Schumacher's The Lost Boys re-invented the vampire coven as a party-loving cross between Mötley Crüe and the hordes of Genghis Khan. The result was a seminal '80s movie moment that redefined the teen-friendly vampire movie genre, paving the way for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, True Blood, Twilight and the rest.
